This is one of those companies I would encourage you to stay away from as they will not value your time and will not honor their scheduled interviews with you.
A couple of weeks after applying for the role, I was contacted by a recruiter via email to schedule a screening call. The call went well and provided an overview of the training content development role with a hybrid requirement in a new lab location. The recruiter confirmed that the role is newly created within a relatively young, growing company that operates mostly remotely with a small number of labs. We discussed general compensation expectations, and my background in e-learning and instructional design. She was transparent about what she did and didn’t know (such as the exact hybrid schedule, potential travel, and whether the role includes facilitation) and advised me to raise those questions in the next, more technical interview. I was informed that the next step was a joint interview with the hiring manager and a senior executive. This was scheduled at the end of the call, and the overall tone was professional and courteous, with clear communication about process and timelines.
However, on the day of the interview, I logged into the Microsoft Teams session right on time, but no one else joined. I sat in an empty meeting room for 10 minutes before finally disconnecting. To make matters worse, there was absolutely zero prior notice, no heads-up email, and no immediate follow-up to explain the absence or acknowledge the mistake. In 20 years of professional experience, I have never had an employer completely ghost a confirmed, multi-interviewer panel like this.
It is incredibly disrespectful to expect candidates to thoroughly prepare and set aside time in their day, only to be met with complete silence. If they won’t respect your time when they’re trying to impress you, imagine how little they’ll respect it once they employ you. Needless to say, I withdrew my application.
