To begin the process after I submitted my application, I had a 30-minute phone call with the Deputy Director of Recruitment. The interview included both questions about myself as well as technical questions that had to do with working in a diverse environment such as Harlem. I was then invited to Finalist Day in Harlem, which included a Demo Teach Lesson, a group interview/discussion, an individual interview, and a writing portion. The candidates were then able to shadow an after-school program. Unfortunately, the Finalist Day was in September 2019, and I will not hear a final decision until January 2020.
