This algorithm cannot be built in a few minutes on call. It is usually only answered by people who have learnt this algorithm. Asking this on call to a Salesforce developer is not fair. Other Salesforce related questions were answered correctly but understood wrongly as the interviewer did not have a Salesforce background.
