Received initial email from hiring recruiting. Had back and forth exchange with recruiter via email for a couple of days followed by a 45-minute phone interview that was quite professional. Next step was the in-person interview where my worst fears about the Citadel culture came true. Was totally blown out of the water by what seemed like an Ivy league elitist attitude of the organization and its desire to focus mostly on the top 1% coming out of the top 1% of schools. Not sure this approach is a recipe for long-term success in today's business world. Was encouraged to watch the CEOs interviews on LinkedIn and YouTube, which were no doubt informative and well done, he is very smart, but I couldn't help but walk away with the feeling of what an ultra insulated culture this firm seems to be building. The executive recruiter too was very bright with a liberal arts background, but also seemed to be cut from the same cloth and fed into that ecosystem. That said it was all a very interesting experience.
