I was contacted for this position through recruitment agency. Talked to them over the phone and then they called me to Toronto downtown for an onsite technical interview.
The interview itself was okay, asked a whole bunch of behavioral, cultural and technical questions. Then solved few technical issues, including white board ones.
The I was told I will be contacted in a day or two.
A week later I asked recruiters if there are any news. They told me that CIBC really liked me but they have no budget for this position so they put it on hold. Something is shady here for sure, not sure what the hell is going on with all that. The outcome I guess is to not to deal with recruiters. Wasted a lot of time.
Update: a month later I was contacted by CIBC that they want to make an offer to me. They asked again what's my minimum for a senior role and how much money I earn now. I told them again. After that they made me an offer 15k LOWER than I have right now. That's not even funny.
