It was a joke, I must say. The interviewer is very headstrong and expects answers he has probably memorized. He was nice and honest and I appreciate his honesty when he said I'd probably not make it in the on-site, but then, I don't believe my answers were entirely wrong. I think I did fairly decent and I was definitely on the right track. Just didn't answer what he expected I guess. Anyway, I am not too disappointed because I probably wouldn't enjoy working with a person/team that he described ( The team he described to me seemed like they're very fast and cut-throat ) so I guess I dodged a bullet!

I made four interviews. Three machine learning interview and one system design interview. Two of the machine learning interviews were classic ML type of problems but Alper Halbutogullari's machine learning interview was really challenging and had original problems. I know he is giving ML courses and has a lot of followers in the field. I was expecting good problems from him and it happened. It is better to practice deeply before interviews.
I got offer. I had better offer so didn't go with that.

Interviewer does not speak english, very hard to communicate with. I did not do well, but I don't think I would be happy to work with even if I get a job. Interviewer expects the answer that interviewer likes no matter correct or not, Not a DS algo coding, completely probabilistic and mathematical programming
