I applied online and a recruiter reached out to me. The recruiter was straightforward. They weren't friendly or rude. They didn't seem interested. It was only about 30 minutes and asked typical questions like why are you looking, tell me a little about yourself. Talked about the role and the company.
Hopped on call with recruiter who immediately said I was a bad fit for the role but would likely be better for another role (which had not yet been posted). Recruiter provided NO information on the company and went straight into questions which were very detailed on my specific experieces, decision-making, and impact. I would've expected that level of details from a hiring manager, but this is a smaller company. The recruiter ended the interview answering my questions; however, she didn't expand on the role that I may be a better for as she didn't have details. Although I received a callback for the next round, I did not pursue given the recruiter experience which said a lot about the company culture which really surprised me.

Straightforward. The recruiter seemed to know more about product than most of the screening interviews I've done. Good conversation overall, but salary expectations did not align so did not go further. Appreciate that candor early in the process.
