      Entretien

These people are incredibly opaque about who they are until you are well into the interview process. Basically, they are the irritating Direct TV salespeople that harass you when you visit Walmart. They are a strange mix of sales, personal development training and pyramid scheme. I showed up for my interview 15 minutes early. I was directed to fill out some brief paperwork before the interview began. I was then “interviewed” by the president of the company. He looked at my resume and asked a couple of questions. After just a few minutes, he asked me how open my afternoon was, as he wanted to invite me to come back for the “second round” interview. Up to this point, they had not mentioned anything about more than one “round” of interviews, either on their LinkedIn post or in the emails and phone calls leading up to this interview. I decided to take the bait anyway, and an hour and a half later I was back at their office filling out another form. “Round One” lasted only 15 minutes total--from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. When I arrived for “Round Two”, I was introduced to a second person who I was told would actually be interviewing me. She then instructed me to follow her across town to the local Sam’s Club. Once there, I had to wait in the food court while she “made sure everything was ready”. Finally, she invited me over to the electronics department where she promptly started into a sales pitch for a TV and a satellite plan. I had to keep cutting her pitch off with direct questions about the position I was supposedly being interviewed for. I got the feeling she wasn’t used to being thrown off her template. Eventually, we got around to the details of the job description and salary. She explained that I would start as an entry level salesperson. I told her that the LinkedIn post was for an Assistant Manager in Training. Her answer was that everyone in the company starts on the bottom and has the opportunity to work their way up. It seems the various job postings Breakway uploads are simply part of a bait-and-switch tactic meant to draw you in (We have a word for that where I come from; it’s called “lying”). Basically, you start out as an entry level salesperson hawking TV’s for $9/hr. plus a small commission. You are then expected to work your way through the ranks until you have a number of people under you, at which point you draw commission off their sales. And throughout this process Breakway is supposedly training you in the skills you need to be a successful regional manager. The icing on the cake was when she told me that a pay rate of $9/hr. equaled a yearly salary of over $30,000.

Good afternoon, I wanted to first start by saying thank you for taking out the time to review our company and our processes. We do appreciate the information that you have provided us, as we believe there is always room for growth in any business and your feedback will help us to make any adjustments in our company as need be. I have reviewed over the information you have provided and want to make sure that we address any issues that may have occurred during your experience with our interview process. Each person that is interviewed by Mr. Green, has a different experience depending on the position they applied for VS. their previous employment as well as education. We would also like to clear up any reservations that you have towards your experience with our company. Our office advertises other companies and their products to help them gain new revenue as well as new clientele. Our office hosts promotional events in their names to broadcast their information just like a commercial would do. This position does offer an hourly rate as well as a commission, all of this information is given to each applicant prior to an interview ever being scheduled. Our company does not sell T.V.'s and not everyone is offered $9.00 an hour. We're not a pyramid scheme company, we're an equal opportunity employer. Everyone that get hired at our company will fill out W-4, I-9 Employment Verification, and other necessary forms for employment. We're are also updated on all forms and taxes with the government too. Also as mention in your post, you did applied for an Assistant Manager in Training position which means you're training to be an Assistant Manager. If you feel that you were treated unfairly or if you have any further issues that we could assist on to resolve, please email our HR Manager at hr@breakwaysolutionsmarketing.com - Again thank you for your feedback.
