I submitted a resume and cover letter. About two weeks later, I received an email from HR asking me to schedule a phone interview with them. I did so, and three weeks later I was interviewed for about 15 minutes by a very nice HR contact. The process was painless, straightforward. The contact was friendly and I enjoyed conversing with her. Unfortunately, I stumbled on "tell us something about yourself?" I've (surprise!) never been asked this easy question before and my answer simply wasn't as good as it could have been. At least I learned something from the experience, but I feel like this will put me out of the running for the next round of interviews that take place at the NYC HQ.
Questions were basic:
Tell me something about yourself.
Tell me how your sales experience will help you in a future sales position at Bloomberg.
Tell me the most interesting news story in the markets right now.
What do you know about this position?
