During my interview process, which reached the final stage, I had a unique interaction with the founder. I sensed distraction in his demeanor, as he frequently diverted his attention elsewhere. Although I felt a positive connection with the rest of the team, I left with the impression that there might have been a preferred candidate in mind. I recall being informed that the CEO personally interviews potential hires due to his close association with the company's growth or by one of the recruiter's words "this is his baby. I found that odd. A point of feedback for improvement would be the clarity in compensation discussions. The job was listed with a specific salary of 75K on LinkedIn, but during negotiations, there seemed to be a discrepancy in the proposed figures compared to what was advertised (offering 60K instead). The reasoning given, comparing my potential offer to the tenure of existing employees, was challenging to reconcile. The process was quite extensive, and receiving clear feedback at the end would have been appreciated. Overall, the experience was a learning curve for me.
