The process consisted of:
1) Application
2) Motivational interview
3) Assessment Centre
The interview questions are heavily technical-based depending on the specialist route. Overall, a challenging experience but the team was great. They were accommodating of my personal circumstances and rescheduled an interview for me. They also gave a lot of advice and kept me up-to-date at all times. Environment-wise as well, everyone is friendly and team-centric. Unfortunately, the assessment centre was cancelled before I could attend so I don't have any information regarding that.

Submitted my CV online and was invited to book an interview online. Received an email the next day with the correct Zoom details as they had sent me the wrong information in their confirmation email.
The job specified a passion for technology rather than extensive knowledge or experience, as it is a graduate scheme but the interview was full of technical questions.
Did not receive any response at all afterwards, only found out my application was 'rejected' when logging back into their candidate profile page more than 2 months later. The company could be more courteous to update applicants. Would not recommend.

The whole process took around 2 weeks. I applied with my CV and then a lovely lady from HR got in contact and booked a Zoom interview. During the Zoom interview you have to show your passion for technology and answer some generic questions such as Explain what a database is to a nontechnical person? Datacentres vs Cloud? Why technology? After this stage I got invited to the assessment centre which was also the last stage. I recieved information about the structure of the assessment day via email and also recieved a call from HR two days prior the assessment centre to go over the structure and give me the oportunity to ask questions had there been any.
The assessment day started at 8am and ended at 3:30pm but there were a lot of breaks in between. 20 minutes before the assessment centre we recieved a document with the schedule as well as the topics for the presentations that we had to present later in the day. There were 2 interviews before lunch one general and one technical algthough they seemed to be very similar, although they were held by different assessors. Following the second interview depending on your schedule you would have had enough time to prepare for your presentation and around noon there was a lunchbreak with the grads from last year where you had the oportunity to ask any questions you had about their experience with Berenberg. Once the lunchbreak was over, the presentations began. They are held by 2 assessors and there are 3 candidates in the breakout room. The presentations had to be very short (around 5mins, leaving 5 mins for questions afterwars). The last stage was the group task which was nontechnical. We were split into breakout rooms in 4s and had to work on a task for 40mins, and then present for 10. Afterwards there is a discussion on with the assessors that watching you throughout the whole process where they comment and question some of your choices. Majority of the assessors were German, however they were all speaking English. The technical interview is the first interview I had and I was very nervous whether I was answering their questions well enough and if they were happy with my answers as they had no expression whatsoever and this stressed me out a little bit but it also pushed me to do better in the rest of the tasks that day.
Advice: do a lot of research about Berenberg
