Applied online. Within 2 days, the CEO called via phone to schedule an on-site interview.
I was first interviewed by two nice people, maybe fresh grads. Was asked some behavioral questions. They showed me their software and gave me a quick rundown then asked me to use their software and point to this and that bone. Zoom in and out. Cut here and there. Fairly easy intuitive stuff. Then the CEO interviewed me and asked me some technical questions regarding programming techniques. I could not answer some questions but he was pretty condescending and unpleasant. He even questioned the value of my education considering those questions he asked were very "fundamental" (which trust me, were not, for people without a CS background). He said since this is an entry level position and since I was fresh out of school, the salary would be 40-45k and asked me if I was OK with that. I hesitated as it was way too low. Then he emphasized that this was a very entry level position and that he cannot compensate me higher.
Nevertheless, I did not hear back from them but luckily was hired elsewhere on the same day with a salary that actually met the Bay Area market price.

Jack, the founder/CEO of the company calls me up after filling out an initial application and proceeds with a telephone interview. From my experience, companies ALWAYS set up an appointment time for a telephone interview. I even told him that I was driving! Then I was forced to pull over. The pay is $45,000 which is without a real commission. This is about $10-15,000 less than other company base salaries. Also, during the interview he was cross-examining me about where I worked and what I did. Although he is mild-mannered it definitely felt like an interrogation! To make matters worse, at the end of the interview he asked for references and never even called them. I have never been asked by a company I interviewed with (at this stage) for references unless they were going to actually contact them. One of my references was a Two other ladies interview, first were typical sales questions. The other goes over the skull and how to use their application. Later she will quiz on what is distal vs. proximal and hand over the mouse to you to manipulate the tool to make digital cuts. A picture of the jaw will be shown and you have to identify left versus right, whether the photo is from the top or bottom, etc. Fast forward a few weeks-they didn't even bother to tell me that they offered the job to someone else.
