I felt that the interview process was very standard. I applied online. They reached out with a phone screening, they sent me assessments, they invited me in for roughly 4 1/2 hours to interview with three people and to speak with the CHRO. The three interviewers and the CHRO were absolutely delightful and wonderful to speak with. One thing that might help out with finding someone for this role is not having the individual that currently holds the role in on the interview. No one likes to know that they are being replaced whether they show it or not; it creates unconscious/conscious bias. During this interview, I was advised that my résumé did not reflect that I had the skill set for this job. One thing I do know-I’ve been in hiring before, you should definitely know long before the 4th interaction and bringing a candidate in for 4-5 hours if they don’t fit the role. I was also told me where to report for the interview and was given the address for Allison Transmission where I ended up at building 12-this is not where my interview was being held. Not giving me the exact details of where I would be going for the interview actually made me 15 minutes late, which looked horrible. If someone wants to keep the position they’re in that needs to be discussed instead of interviewing people for 4 to 5 hours so they can be told they don’t fit the job. Also, I’m currently not working. This was announced outside the interview room. Totally inappropriate.

Interview process consisted of email communication for availability. Then we scheduled an onsite interview that included a tour of the plant, as well. Interview took about 30 -45 minutes and consisted of three employees that work directly in the department that I applied for.
