      Entretien

Save yourself the time and energy by NOT APPLYING for a job at this company. I was referred by another employee and I am qualified for the position. I was scheduled for a phone interview which went well. I was then called in for a first interview (in person), and again it went well. About 2 weeks into the process, I received an email stating the supervisor was concerned that I might not find the position I applied for “fulfilling” because it was not a customer facing position. I was then offered another position in the machine shop (even less customer facing). Despite the inconsistent feedback, I was still willing to entertain the machine shop position and asked for a formal job description and salary details. I received the job description, but had to request the salary information MULTIPLE TIMES. I finally received an email from the HR manager apologizing for the delay and indicating that she had to ask the hiring manager for salary information “several times”. She provided me with a salary amount which was described as “approximate” and told that they understood this was too low and they were sorry, but I was no longer being offered the job. The following week I received another email from the HR manager saying she was sorry for the confusion and asked if I was still interested in moving forward with the machine shop position. I agreed and was told someone would get back to me. Approximately a week later, I received an email asking me to complete their personality/placement test. I completed the test and the company then reached out to me asking if I could come back in for another in-person interview (this time for the machine shop position). I did, and again. this interview went well and the hiring manager apologized multiple times for the entire process. After the interview, I received a tour of the shop. A few days later, I received an email stating they didn’t have it in the budget to hire me (even though there are still 5 openings for the position I initially applied for. This entire process took about 6 weeks and every other week I received inconsistent and contradictory information. I can accept being told I’m not a good fit, or that I’m under qualified, etc. However, being strung along for such a substantial amount of time, and given multiple different reasons that didn’t line up with things they were telling me is just simply unacceptable. Not only did they waste my time, they wasted their own time. I regret not seeing all the “red flags” sooner. This company definitely needs to restructure their hiring and interview processes, as it is clear they have no idea what they’re doing. Good luck!
