      Entretien

I applied directly through their website, and received a phone interview from HR a few days later. This consisted of the usual questions (tell me about yourself, etc). The next day or two later they invited me out to an in person interview where I met with two of the managers. Walking through the office was a little depressing, it just consists of a bunch of desks scattered around while everyone is very silent with headphones on. To be a company that brags about Nerf gun fights they are not impressive at all. After the 30 minute conversation with the two managers, it was time for the 30 minute coding challenge (algorithms, data structures, and their secret language that you can find on their website). Honestly I felt like I did a pretty bad job on the coding part, but the next day I was asked to speak with two other managers over the phone, and after that, on the same day I received an offer. The process as a whole was too fast and extremely rushed, so I knew something had to be wrong. When I received the paperwork regarding my salary and job title, for some reason instead of Software Developer my job title said Technical Consultant. I confronted them on this and they said it's what they call the position internally because not many people know what it means. While what they really meant to say is, "We can't find any new grads that want to be Technical Consultants so we bait and switch Software Developers." On top of that, they only gave me until the end of the week to decide, with no opportunity to negotiate salary (which was not impressive at all, and my lowest offer to date). So overall, if you want to work for a very boring company that has you travel and uses bait and switch tactics to recruit people, this is the place.
