I had an interview with the hiring manager and then a panel interview. During both, I was told that they were replacing a "unicorn." Not only is this the last thing you should tell an applicant (I don't want to have to live up to the hype of someone I've never met nor heard of), but it also explains why the two interviews plus the listing made it feel like I was interviewing for three different jobs. The internal recruiter was also a grade-A doofus; then again, he's a recruiter.
