      Basic benefits, but nothing exceptional.

      Inconvénients

      I cannot describe ESF as a safe working environment. Serious concerns about workplace conduct were met with deaf ears. Management appeared primarily focused on “managing” narratives rather than anything else. Claims that the organisation cares for its people do not reflect the lived reality. Don’t fall for their false narratives on professionalism, it’s wishful thinking. Strongly advise against an employment there.

      Avantages

      Most science officers and support personnel are professional, competent, well-trained and courteous.

      Inconvénients

      The ESF Management Group's (MG) behavior and performance is feudal, erratic, incompetent, and toxic. Intimidation and bullying of staff are routine. Modern personnel management practices are inexistent. No criticism of the MG is tolerated, contracts of staff deemed insufficiently compliant or too inquisitive are terminated. Mailboxes are monitored and message threads disappear. Arbitrary internal rules apply to external consultants. The cost of internal financial mistakes is routinely shifted to consultants. Personnel turnover is considerable. A few lawsuits for wrongful termination are underway.

      Facts: In 2025 we had to terminate a consultant’s contract after an independent external assessment found they had engaged in psychological harassment of one of our staff members, including intrusions into the personal sphere and sustained psychological pressure. The same individual later openly alleged that we deleted their emails — technically impossible, as our systems use multi‑factor authentication and robust audit trails. This provides some clues about who have submitted this comment. We value and protect our people.
