Avantages

Autonomy, lots of responsibility given to young operators, highly talented workforce, satisfying to be able to contribute on client sites.

Inconvénients

Not the merit-based company it purports to being. Huge divide between client sites and headquarters. Work-life balance is poor. Difficult to network and make connections. 2012 performance reviews not communicated until mid-April; bonuses not paid til May.

Avantages

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Inconvénients

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
