      Inconvénients

      Managers in facilities are almost always college grads with little trade experience, would honestly be better off with men or women with at least 7-10 years of trades experience instead of a degree. Understanding the work that your assign to your employees is a must .

      Avantages

      High quality core facilities and well resourced labs. Countless brilliant colleagues who can serve as mentors and collaborators

      Inconvénients

      Students and Postdocs are expensive due to high overhead, so unreasonably high productivity is often expected compared to other institutions. PIs are typically stretched very thin. Most departments/labs are very space limited which makes it harder to do safe and productive research.
