      Avantages

      Friendly and causal environment. Great network of administrative assistants that help each other when necessary. Creative atmosphere, always something groundbreaking in the works. Fun events that are fairly inclusive.

      Inconvénients

      Lots of protocol and specific rules, can be constricting to the job (it may be easier for me to do something but if it is not part of my job description -- no go). A lot of different personalities, some easier to work with than others. Fast pace.

      Avantages

      High quality core facilities and well resourced labs. Countless brilliant colleagues who can serve as mentors and collaborators

      Inconvénients

      Students and Postdocs are expensive due to high overhead, so unreasonably high productivity is often expected compared to other institutions. PIs are typically stretched very thin. Most departments/labs are very space limited which makes it harder to do safe and productive research.
