Avantages

the team is, overall, nice

Inconvénients

i was hired for 65k because they wanted to transition to an agile format and increse code quality. in 4 months, i could not get a planning session ( it is a waste of time for them), the only retrospective was a joke, and basic changes asked on PRs were rejected because opposition to good practices ( ie: using createSelector is, for them, over engineering ). it was a constant fight for everything. IF you get here, forget about any design principles like SOLID, DRY, or KISS.. and of course, design patterns. The front end team is purely driven and managed by the product team, and without proper planning sessions, this becomes a problem. The code is so messy because there is no supervision nor filter on product requests. You will HAVE to use mixins for everything, from font-weight to display. if you like spaghetti code, a completely absent management, and to proceed without a plan or a strategy in tech development, this is the right place for you. last note: we start as.2 new seniors, found out the other one was hired for 5k less than me. so be smart when negotiate the amount of salary.

Avantages

Working at Weekendesk was an enriching experience. The company fosters a great work environment with supportive colleagues, strong leadership in Human Resources, and excellent opportunities for professional growth. I particularly appreciated the investment in new technologies and tools that made daily work more efficient and innovative. Overall, it was a place where collaboration and development were strongly encouraged.

Inconvénients

While my overall experience was positive, one of the main challenges was the lack of transparency in decision-making. Top-level management often implemented major changes without consulting teams, leading to confusion and frequent reorganizations. This instability sometimes made it difficult to plan ahead and stay aligned with company goals. In addition, it's hard to progress in some positions.
