No raises, no future. Most employees still do the same work they did 15 years ago - may be newer technology. Call center agents,marketers, accounting, software developers still do the same work - no growth. Management will point to only a handful of people that may have gone on to do other things. Truth is, these individuals are handful - trust me. Person in charge of compensation sits on it for months, even years promising improved compensation policy but never does. Bonuses they claim to pay can buy your family a decent dinner - that’s it. The only employees who work there are the ones that work the system (flexible hours and they disappear for hours during work hours). There has been a lot of turnover lately due to the work environment (holacracy, don’t care attitude of fellow employees). A friend of mine who is still employed tells me that the company is finding it hard to employ talented people and trying to improve its image by promoting itself on social media. But I think the damage has been done.
