Avantages

Fun coworkers and several of the departments are actually trying to be good to there employees.

Inconvénients

Constantly changing policy and hidden agendas. Told me room for growth but never told be you have to serve an entire year in a position which was entry level before even being considered for promotion or transfer. Even if all managers have approved and signed off and you are completely qualified. They would rather look outside the company than promote someone who has worked there less than a year. The communication is horrible. Nobody knows what the policies. They take advantage of the employees and don't follow their own ideals. Be wary of the job descriptions when applying they are very inaccurate.

Avantages

The manager of my department is very good but I can not say that about most of the other managers. I have been able to learn a great deal and feel valued by by my manager as well as the pathologists affiliated with the lab. I work with a team of very knowledgeable good people.

Inconvénients

The UniPath laboratory operations were bought by a group of business men ~5yrs ago. They have cut benefits, including stopped matching the 401K, and pay has stagnated. Their plan was to sell the lab off to a larger operation and make a tidy profit, but the large labs (i.e. Quest and Lab Corp) has stated that they are no longer interested in doing any acquisitions. So, unfortunately we are being run by people who seem to have no idea how to run a large laboratory. They are pulling large salaries from the company but have done little to increase our sales or efficiency, however they need to show an increase in profits to their investors and so they continue to cut pay and benefits while telling us how lucky we are to work here. I am looking for something else but will miss my team of highly skilled and hard working techs.
