Avantages

TempWorks has been an incredible place to build my career over the last 10+ years—even supporting me through a relocation. The company offers generous time off and really values work-life balance. While working with clients can sometimes mean being contacted outside of hours, that’s more a reflection of the high level of service we provide, not a company flaw. I’ve made lifelong friendships here—coworkers are truly some of the best people I’ve ever worked with. The company also invests in fun events and celebrations, which makes it feel like more than just a job. TempWorks also recognizes hard work and loyalty. Leadership notices when people go the extra mile, and there are always opportunities to get involved in projects or initiatives if you raise your hand.

Inconvénients

The past year or so has been tough due to broader economic challenges, and like many companies, we experienced layoffs and limited raises. Raises were more modest than in previous years, but I genuinely believe leadership is aware and working to address it. With so many long-tenured employees, growth opportunities can sometimes be limited depending on your role. Working remotely, while great for flexibility, can also make upward momentum feel a little more out of reach compared to being in-office. Still, working hard and continuing to show up with a positive attitude is what I’ll keep doing—and what I believe will always pay off here.

Avantages

Room for promotions if you’re willing to work hard, take on additional responsibilities (teams are stretched thin so there’s plenty of opportunities), and have the right people like you. You have to be willing to work the system though.

Inconvénients

They operate very lean. This has lead to entire departments constantly feeling like their job is just putting out fires and eating crap. Management is perfectly fine having layoffs (they’re have been multiple for our small company) but will never be in the trenches with their employees. Compensation is well below market and they seem to try and promote people without offering a raise. They’ll just slide a piece of paper with the new job title and pretend like it’s normal to not give a raise for a promotion. It’s in managements playbooks to give as small of raises as possible. It’s enjoyable for them. For a small company, you’d think management would be working to get their subordinates to like them rather than run them into the ground. Career progression is good until they decide to get rid of you for the budget. I’ve seen it happen too many times.
