Avantages
Most people you'll work with are pretty cool and laid back. Pay and benefits were decent.
Inconvénients
I was offered a position as a software developer and was put on support triage from day one. The workload was so low that I could have just as easily not been there. I never once had a manager while I was there, so I answered to my director who was generally less than useful and the chain of command was non-existent. There was no clear path to advancement, little opportunity to grow, and--even though there was little if any work for those of us already present, they continued to hire people straight to bench. When I voiced my discontent I was simply told that we don't always get the projects that we want, which makes very clear their lack of understanding of the market they claim to service. Support is not development! As far as I'm concerned, SIM was a complete waste of almost a year of my life.
