A small sales team who have to cold call all day, a lot of nasty calls and people are just not interested. After getting a few sales after thousands and thousands of cold calls I was put off because it's just not worth it, lots of penalties in place if you do not hit their unrealistic targets. Always a fear of losing your job, no motivation from CEO, only fear of losing your job instilled by him constantly. The manager is under a lot of stress because the owner just keeps pushing targets on him that make absolutely no sense. Targets are decided based on what he would like to bring in rather than performance, year on year results etc... Completely unrealistic targets. They do no marketing so there are no leads, just cold calling all day. Lack of resources, mainly using free or cheap systems that make your job harder such as a terrible phone system, outsourcing to far away countries that delay response and delivery of products. On top of that it's a very low basic salary, and wont be until 6 months to a year until you start making a little commission.
