They never fully established a true pay‑for‑performance model or built a consistent approach to recognizing and appreciating employees. After COVID, it became even easier for people to find higher‑paying opportunities elsewhere, which has driven a lot of turnover. The long‑time, deeply committed “old guard” is beginning to retire, and without strong retention practices in place, the organization is feeling that loss more acutely.
You’ll be expected to track your time daily, and the process can feel burdensome. It’s unusual—and at times discouraging—to have to demonstrate your value every single day as a salaried employee.
