Avantages
For freelance work in the gig economy, this is great pay. And you get paid hourly instead of by project. There's a lot of great people that work here and despite everyone being remote, there's a good community aspect. The founder is always willing to put himself in front of the company and be direct about what's going on.
Inconvénients
The top management tells people who were hired for a specific skill (write content, edit videos, etc.) that they're now responsible for finding a strategy that can be profitable. If you can't do it? You're out. You get an opportunity to apply to move to another team, but that could happen again. Also worth noting that, at least for me, I was not given a raise when the duties switched. Another con is that we're all paid as contractors when they really expect us to behave like employees (work a specific schedule, come to live meetings, etc.) The founder can also come off as condescending and middle management is not a great buffer.
