Avantages

The cybersecurity industry is definitely hot and interesting. Many co-workers were intelligent, hard-working, and enjoyable to be around. If you're looking for a challenge, Rook will give you that. Unlimited sick time was nice. And the break from Christmas through New Year's was nice as well.

Inconvénients

The CEO is the #1 reason why Rook is a horrible place. He is toxic, thinks he knows what is best, has a temper, and is just a horrible person. I would bet my life savings that there are multiple people who have grounds to sue Rook. People were let go for the wrong reasons, chairs were thrown around the office, the CEO liked to scream, cuss, etc. to employees. The list just goes on. And the healthcare benefits were not the best. I literally suffered PTSD after leaving that horrible company.

Avantages

Something new can be thrown at me every single day (and has been many, many times during my internship), which results in getting tons of experience in a really wide range of systems, services, and concepts. The people at Rook are great people, and teamwork is a very regular and natural thing here. The internship pays well, and as a full-time student I've found that they're very flexible with the work schedule of students. In the time I've had this internship, I've been able to successfully apply nearly every single concept I've learned through four years of higher education, in addition to constantly learning new things. For those that can handle the pressure, I completely believe that this is an excellent internship that I'm sure will lead to many great opportunities in the future.

Inconvénients

It can be really challenging to have to pick up, learn, and become a professional in so many different areas in a sometimes unrealistic amount of time. While the experience is great, sometimes it can be very overwhelming and turn into a massive amount of stress. This sometimes makes the balance between life and work difficult to manage. The environment can be stressful sometimes, and not everyone can handle that type of situation. Most of the employees are also interns, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I would like seeing more full-time employees compared to mostly interns.
