Avantages

Friendly management and support staff. The team was generally supportive and easy to communicate with. Flexible for short-term work. It’s a decent option if you have extra time and need something temporary.

Inconvénients

Physically demanding You’re often required to carry 100+ lb. bags up several flights of stairs in old buildings with no elevators. No tipping culture Most clients don’t tip, which makes the job feel thankless. Lack of respect from clients Some clients won’t even acknowledge you yet expect you to take more bags back for cleaning. Poor pay Compensation is not worth the physical and emotional toll. High out-of-pocket expenses You pay for your own gas (only reimbursed ~$0.50 per mile) and tolls, which are difficult to get reimbursed. Vehicle wear and tear The job puts serious strain on your car, and the company doesn’t cover any of it. Stressful delivery deadlines Pressure to deliver on time is high, with little regard for traffic or parking difficulties. Frequent parking tickets Finding legal parking is nearly impossible, leading to inevitable tickets and fines.

Inconvénients

I signed up to be a “valet” with Rinse in San Francisco and they kept cancelling my orientation and training shift citing issues with their warehouse and staffing. Every time the next soonest available training wasn’t for another week, and then they would inevitably cancel on me again 2-3 hours before the start of my shift. Huge waste of time and energy, half the time their “support” never even responds to texts.
