Avantages

Rafter's business has a great mission to help students save money, and they have a really great team of hard-working people working there. The work culture is well balanced, and it's a positive working environment--the office environment has really improved over the last couple of years.

Inconvénients

Sometimes management can give mixed messaging or delay answering and then rush their decision-making, which makes long-term planning for projects/changes more challenging. It's very sink or swim during busy periods and there is little time given for discussing how to respond/act--sometimes, it's worth taking a bit of time to talk it out as a group and work through getting to a solution/plan instead of gut reactions. Your employees and the company will always benefit from thoughtful decision-making.

Avantages

Culture was great, the people I worked with were amazing. The exec team really cares about each of the employees' professional AND personal development.

Inconvénients

Funding and lack of resources were always an issue. If it weren't for the fact that the company closed, I think I'd still be working here for a while.

Avantages

Rafter is a place where everyone is hardworking and moving towards the same goal. There's a plethora of smart talented people here that are friendly and willing to help you out. When it's work time we all dig into the trenches but when it's over we party like it's our last day. The environment is definitely cut throat but rewarding if you can hang in there.

Inconvénients

Like most small startups you're required to wear multiple hats and learn things that you weren't hired for. Sometimes your position can change several times in a year depending on the needs of the company. This isn't really a con for the person that likes to take on new challenges quickly. For the type that likes to be told what to do and repeat the same task everyday this may be a problem.
