Avantages

Microchip has a great health care, stock and benefits program, educational training and really great people.

Inconvénients

Although work/life balance is promoted, it depends who you work for and if there is an acquisition going on (which seems like always). Hard work and dedication is rewarded with more responsibility, more stress and the same pay. Any change or new ideas are very slow to be implemented, if at all. Business units and regions compete for dollars so there is no global cohesiveness.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. Glad to see that you recommend Microchip. We noticed your advise to management too. While it is true that there is always a lot of work to be done especially during times of acquisitions, we think this is the case with any organization that is expanding and growing as we are. It is to be expected. As far as rewarding and “recognizing go-getters” is concerned, we actually have a quarterly review process and since the beginning of this year alone, we have promoted a total of 871 employees worldwide. We know that career advancement opportunities are important to employees and we work hard to recognize folks whenever possible. We appreciate the opportunity to comment.”

Avantages

There are a handful of people here who are fantastic to work with, are very knowledgeable, and care about the product that's going out the door.

Inconvénients

Leadership is fundamentally out of touch and appears indifferent to employee well-being. The culture is marred by nepotism and a lack of accountability, where 'guiding values' are preached but never practiced. Feedback is discouraged, and those who speak up are often targeted. Expect a 'reward' of more work for the same pay, as promotions are rare and promised bonuses are frequently withheld despite strong site performance. A very frustrating and toxic environment for those who value merit and transparency.
