Avantages
Most... people that I met were very nice and friendly. The overall vibe I got from the place fluctuated a lot though... especially near the end. Has good benefits Nice open office spacing Fun little events for employees The products produced are pretty cool Plenty of parking
Inconvénients
They expect literally no human error after the first month, despite them admitting they made at least one similar mistake every week before I started. Starting out, I made maybe a one or two print mistakes a week, should be understandable for a certain period I think. Workload could vary from designing from 3 to 8 kiosk designs a day, plus making approved proofs print ready, and doing any extra design tasks. After the first month they took away the promised “hybrid” status of the job. Yes, extremely outlandish “punishment”, especially since it seemed like they were planning on letting me go anyway, unless it was to scare me away and quit. Very unnecessary, especially when gas prices have never been higher. It felt petty and pointless on their part. Not long after, I succeeded and got the actual mistakes down to one a week. Apparently they lied and changed the rule to 0 a week, and the inconsistant hybrid status was still in effect. I eventually achieved that goal too after a few weeks of quadruple checking everything in my own way, and even recorded my own progress in a document to show proof of it. No print errors in 2.5 weeks. Having to add in new features to older designs when they came in proofs really threw things off to begin with. Then in between, there were typical errors. Some just little things based on miscommunication of wording, and it was counted against me with gaslighting... like more small excuses were needed for a decision they probably made months ago, because it felt like the first moment a mistake was made, it was already decided that I was going to be let go. A shift in tone of everything going forward from that point felt different and off, it felt like I couldn’t engage in situations. Very odd decision making in my opinion. Feels that only they can make errors with no consequences. That included being late, as I was only slightly late once, and noticed others had a larger window in which to get in and sit down, but only acted annoyed when I was late once by accident. On note taking, I have my own style that was ultimately criticized, since I can only write/type so fast and it’s better for my ADD/ADHD, despite there not being anything wrong with the way I take them. The whole experience was very odd and felt slightly personal at times.
