Medical for family coverage is quite expensive. No cost of living raises. No bonuses. Annual performance raises are paltry.

Management is willing to take some risk and give opportunity to employees who may not have all the requisite experience for a task or project. This risk gives employees an opportunity to grow and learn new skills without having to change companies. Additionally, the top-level senior management team talks to employees and congratulates them on their successes, both in and out of work.
