Avantages

* Several incredible engineers on staff to learn from. * Fascinating telecom stack. * Good TDD culture and peer review processes. * Wonderful location in downtown SB with parking. * Very easy interview.

Inconvénients

* Compensation is non-competitive, even for the area. * Engineering is locked to a select set of technologies, and leadership will not consider evaluating other / newer tooling. * Very poor mentoring. * Engineering (my dept) was riddled with favoritism, drama, and politics. There were several instances of engineers trying to steal leadership of projects from the engineers who actually proginated the ideas. * Monolithic application structure and aged deployment strategies. * Management is wholly devoted to the dollar, and puts all employee needs second.

Avantages

’ve been fortunate to work at several great companies throughout my career, but Invoca has the strongest culture I’ve experienced. The people genuinely care about one another’s success, and there is a level of collaboration and partnership across teams that is rare to find. What stands out most is the leadership team. They don’t just talk about supporting employees—they actively invest time, energy, and resources into helping individuals and teams grow. Whether it’s removing obstacles, providing coaching, encouraging innovation, or creating opportunities for development, leadership consistently shows up as true partners. From a business perspective, it’s an incredibly exciting time to be here. Invoca has continued to expand its AI-powered product portfolio in meaningful ways that solve real customer challenges. The pace of innovation is impressive, and it’s energizing to work for a company that is embracing AI not as a buzzword, but as a core part of its strategy and customer value. The company also does an excellent job of aligning teams around common goals while still empowering people to take ownership and make an impact. There is a strong sense that everyone is rowing in the same direction and helping one another succeed.

Inconvénients

Like any fast-growing company, priorities can evolve quickly as we continue to innovate and respond to market opportunities. That can create occasional change and ambiguity and to some that can be overwhelming, but leadership is generally transparent about the reasons behind decisions and works hard to keep teams aligned.

Avantages

Compensation is decent for a company of this size, and the benefits are solid enough. There are some really smart, talented people across the organization, and the core product is still well-liked by customers. That said, it’s fine as a place to land for a job, but not somewhere you’d want to get too comfortable or plan on staying long-term.

Inconvénients

There’s basically no clear strategy right now beyond just saying “AI” over and over. The company isn’t focused on building the features customers actually want or that drive real revenue. A recent acquisition was a bad decision, and instead of addressing that directly, there’s been a push to force AI features into the product that customers didn’t ask for and don’t really need. Leadership has also taken a turn. It feels like the company moved away from people who genuinely cared about the product and employees to a more typical SaaS leadership style, detached, overly aggressive, and not always transparent. They are trying to get secure their parachute rather than saving the company. Some of the newer leaders are out of touch with what’s actually going on, not qualified for the roles they’re in and downright toxic individuals. Moreover, leaders are not honest among themselves, blatant lies run rampant about projects, capabilities, timeless, and even basic research. A lot of long-tenured employees seem to see where things are headed and are either leaving or trying to. Performance reviews, raises, and bonuses are heavily tied to vague AI-related metrics instead of the actual work people are responsible for. At the same time, there’s no real investment in helping employees build those skills, and the company doesn’t seem to have a strong, market-ready AI product to back it up. Career growth is pretty limited. There aren’t clear paths for advancement, and it’s hard to see how you’re supposed to progress within the company.
