Avantages
this is the 2nd time that i have been at a startup of this size, in which i have felt such drive, enthusiasm, & electricity in the air, embodied by all members of the organization... top-to-bottom! except this time, with insight engines, i see that our technology is much more intriguing, with an enormous addressable market share in front of us. this team is very thoughtful & methodical in the way that we bring on new talent, in the way that we find people to add to our team. it is a little bit tricky to find good people in such a competitive area (the san francisco bay). those that join us are of an incredible skill-level, big-time geeks with people skills, coding chops, interest in technology, a drive to be the best, and able to work well + mesh smoothly with other smart individuals... all in the interest of creating something greater than the sum of any of our (talented) parts. amazingly, despite embodying many tropes of "startup life", we are strongly encouraged (both through words & example) to live a healthy life. which means work-life balance is real here. many of us have families, & there is not the kind of pressure here that i have seen at other companies, to simply show your face for the value of showing your face. work hard, contribute to the team, and take time for yourself + your family. that is how we roll at insight engines. i have never been in a group with such concentrated brainpower, in which all were willing to share, contribute, and smile. we are encouraged to be kind, thoughtful, and genuine. this is rare. it happens here with a staggeringly unique combination of brilliant people, humans with deep empathy, & varied life experiences. we are not all new to the industry; there is a lot of experience here which makes us a formidible bunch. many have experienced strong successes in our professional lives, & once you spend some time in the room with these people, that fact is quite clear. check us out. you will be impressed.
Inconvénients
plenty of runway. however we are a startup. therefore nothing (as in in life) is a sure thing. this is true for large companies too, though,..
