Toxic, Greenwashed and Greedy - Avis employé Director of Marketing Helpsy

The company touts itself on being a certified B Corp who puts people over profit. With approximately 10 rounds of layoffs in the last year, with zero severance, that’s simply not true. The CEO does not understand the business niche, and has surrounded himself with yes people who are willing to do anything to get ahead. Their actual efforts to create an environmental impact are insignificant, because they do not have a problem with selling actual trash to customers. There is zero communication between departments. Collaborative discussion is discouraged unless you are willing to just agree with whatever is the flavor of the month for the general direction of the company. The majority of the work was done by a few people, while everyone else coasted. The company claims to want to keep clothing out of the landfill, but sells mystery boxes full of damaged clothing to resellers, which ends up putting more clothes in the trash. If you push to prevent this, you are told that you aren’t constructive or helpful. The customer’s feedback is ignored, and even laughed at. Pay was far under the going rate except for a few select people who managed to negotiate insane salaries and bonuses. Everyone else was forced to accept low pay and continue to accept more and more work on their plate due to the heavy volume of layoffs. Management allows cliques, keeps people alienated and refuses to listen or help you grow.
