Avantages

Trying to come up with some pros, the company I work for was acquired by Harris years ago. Good vacation time accrued, but is countered by the overtime expectation, below industry pay increases.

Inconvénients

P.C.'s you get for work are slow with not enough hard drive and take months to get, VP of my division doesn't even know what our software does. Salary increases are incredibly low, the bonus they give year fluctuates in amount and neither the raises and bonus covers the amount of overtime you are expected to work. You only get a good performance review if you have worked a lot of unpaid overtime. When staff leaves they do not fill position, leaving others to do more work without compensation. Many, many people at or above management level compared to actual workers. No work/Life balance, they expect you to be available 24\7 and don't compensate you for it. They want you to do their work outside of business hours. People will back stab you to advance themselves. They think salaried employee means that you should work 24\7. No training, you are expected to just figure things out. I can't tell you how many times I've made plans for after work only to have to change my plans last minute because of some kind of emergency. I've had to stop making plans and commitments. Even getting to their out of town Holiday Party and back requires you to put in major overtime hours and cost you money out of your own pocket. But they consider that a "Perk".

Avantages

Great company to work for, though they are all about the next thing to acquire.

Inconvénients

401K plan is a 'maybe we will match' type thing. Could be much better.

Avantages

Strong belief in core values and generally practiced. Financially responsible of not edging on thrifty. Change is a constant and there is plenty of opportunity if you know the right people.

Inconvénients

Sometimes they fail their core values which are the foundation of the organization. You will get borderline reasonable pay which doesn't carry long term benefit.
