Avantages
-Some flexibility with work schedules -Can have fun on the job -PTO and benefits are fine; includes someeducational reimbursement -Branches are small enough that you can get to know everyone and feel like a team -Most patrons are fine; some are extra nice and make you feel good to do your job
Inconvénients
-Non-competitive pay for hourly -Not much diversity in most branches -Dealing with patrons can sometimes be complicated so you just have to be patient; management is generally pretty supportive though -Some cities have a more noticeable unhoused population and the library system only has off-duty police officers rather than social workers to manage the issue -Upper admin tends to stay for decades--hard to break into those positions -No opportunity for advancement -Management ignores staff critiques of poor supervisors
