Avantages

the money because it is really the only thing that keeps me there. i love the people that work there with me.

Inconvénients

pretty much everything even the management not all but some. maybe ill be happier in another job but right now it is all i have. really good people to work with but the customers, to be honest are some of the weirdest and uncivilized people i have ever seen. not all but some of the customers really do not help me appreciate my job. i know this happens at every job but when i constantly have to walk into those bathrooms and clean up the same excrement off of the floor because of someone's carelessness, i dont want to be a part of that any longer. and to have them suspend me for three days because of a three tardy even after my attendance improved. i mean i just see this all as unfair, noone else at that job has to do what i do. cleaning the whole store and in such a manor which requires more of my efforts, leaving me drained at the end of the day. my body cannot take it anymore, waking up at 6 in the a.m. to be there at 7 30 every morning gets old quick. and when the boss is constantly pushing you around not letting me do my job and then the district manager shows up and my job isnt done im the one who suffers. i have respect for these people but im losing my patience. its hard to find a job anywhere else right now but im really thinking of quitting and maybe they'll see what a big contribution i gave to their company. cleaning everything and then helping with excepting donations, processing wares and putting it out on the floor, switching salvage bins for EVERYONE, loading and unloading the truck, and sweeping the front sidewalk.

Avantages

I enjoyed my customer service work - helping people as a part of a larger mission to help the community. I found it rewarding to advance to supervisor and pick up new skills and responsibilities such as safety auditing and supply management. And of course it was always interesting to sort all the interesting and unique donated goods.

Inconvénients

A change in management over the past year+ has been very difficult for me. I found my work more heavily scrutinized and criticized in ways that felt unclear and unfair. The new manager had a clear bias towards certain employees, gossiped openly and loudly and often with explicit HIPAA violations, and made it literally impossible for me to keep track of inventory supplies as a part of my responsibilities. Communication between management and associates - and even between management and supervisors is very poor. Workplace culture has seemed to shift from being very flexible and people-oriented to more stringent on policy and focused on revenue. Trust in upper management is strained. Day to day if you stick to your task and focus on production, you'll probably do well. But for me it isn't what it used to be.
