Avantages

4 day, 35 hour weeks for a reasonable salary

Inconvénients

Bear in mind, I joined and left during COVID lockdown - No onboarding process beyond your first day - No internal HR - No 1-to-1 check-ins - No meaningful performance feedback - No opportunities for relaxed social interaction with colleagues when working remotely - Tech expertise is mostly within a single, long-standing member of staff. The rest don't have a clue. - Claim to follow Agile principles but simply do not - Poor code quality - No training in the primary development language provided - No one ever puts their cameras on during tech meetings - Minimum statutory pension contribution - The company clearly prioritises marketing itself over actually delivering a quality product and seeing to employee wellbeing Software devs, you can do much better elsewhere.

I’d like to thank you for your valuable feedback, and also tell you how we’re addressing the concerns you’ve raised. Firstly, we’ve taken steps to improve our onboarding process for new employees. We’ve put measures in place to provide better training, guidance, and support channels, to help give new staff the best start possible. One of our core values is approachability. As such, we encourage staff across all levels of the business to voice their opinions, and also respect the views of others. We have a culture of openness and communication, but recognise that we lost our way a bit with these things through remote working during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re now taking steps to address this and put relevant processes in place, since some employees will choose to work remotely in future. Whilst we normally have a company-wide social gathering every month, this face-to-face interaction unfortunately wasn’t possible during the pandemic. Now that it’s safe to do so, our company-funded monthly pizza socials, as well as our summer and Christmas parties are resuming. I fully appreciate that we haven’t always got things right over the years. However, we’ve learnt lessons along the way, and we’re constantly listening, learning and trying to change things for the better. Overall, Formedix has a high staff retention rate, and we hope to maintain this. We take employee feedback incredibly seriously, and we’re making every effort to understand and address employee concerns. I would be very happy to discuss things further with you offline.
