Whoever is in charge of setting matrix pay rates doesn’t seem to understand human nature or motivation. All over this page are replies from them saying that they set the per piece rate at an “above market rate” overall, but what this fails to take into account or mention is that as you work harder, the pay per claim GOES DOWN, so you feel like you’re in a ever speeding up hamster wheel just to maintain the same rate. (And I have serious doubts about the above market claim, too.) Or Sisyphus and pushing the rock, whatever metaphor you want to use. Company started off with a focus on picking off the best of the best of employees from other companies, and setting them free to make *decent* money, and clients could be assured they got things done right. Now it’s just typically corporate, but worse, since most places don’t decrease your pay for working harder. It’s bizarre to see them still defending this.
