Avantages

First off I want to state that this is my opinion and not everyone's is the same, although I know quite a few people who would agree with my assessment. I was upper management, I sat in meetings with some of the highest employees in the company. This is not something I would say lightly nor do I enjoy writing. The only reason I am writing this is that one of my former employees messaged me today and stated. "I have to give you credit for doing what's right, and leaving the company, it's only getting worse day by day." The sad thing is, that wasn't the first time I had received a message or phone call with a similar sentiment. I was not fired, nor was I forced out, I left on my own accord because I couldn't stand to see something that once was so great, become something that was so terrible. I worked for FirstKey from basically the beginning. It was a lot of fun. It was exciting, innovating, and every day was a new challenge. Watching the company grow and meeting a lot of good people who worked hard alongside myself and many other individuals. As time went by though there were many changes, some were good, and some were bad. Every time though we came together and overcame those challenges. Eventually, though the bad decisions started to overwhelm the good ones. Certain individuals were brought from outside the company to fix FirstKey. I am not saying all of them were bad choices, but some of them certainly were and still are, yet they still work there and are considered some of the "brightest and the best". When in fact they should be fired, they are lucky that they have amazing teams that work for them that make them look good even though they actually do nothing that contributes to the success of the company. They have no care of the hardworking people that work endlessly to ensure success within the organization. There are some pros for FirstKey and I will list them below. *Very Competitive Pay *Great Medical Benefits *Reasonable PTO *Friendships *New experiences Some people may have more than that, and I would say I used to as well, but not anymore.

Inconvénients

Day by day the FirstKey culture that once was only get's worse. A lot of good people have left the company, and rightly so. Continuously people get overlooked every day because they don't try and promote themselves to upper management. They just do their jobs and do it right, yet they get passed over for promotion or for a pay raise because they didn't run out into the middle of the office every day and yell that they had done a good job. It shouldn't require that, management should see it. That is not always the case though. Quite a few people have left because of that exact reason. Some of the particular upper management has there "Favorites" and these people get looked upon more graciously because they are friends or someone they had worked with previously. While others who work just if as hard if not harder just get overlooked and passed on by. FirstKey promotes "Promoting from within", I can count from memory on 5 different occasions that suitable internal candidates got passed over for promotion because a senior leader just "didn't like them" and were either replaced with someone from outside the organization or from someone that the leader liked more. Don't worry, this leader is still there, and still crushing the hopes and dreams of more Keypers every day. So to the Cons. *Upper Management does not listen- This is the most key one, I hope that someone from FirstKey takes a shot at replying to my assessment. I would be glad to debate in an open forum here on glassdoor the MULTIPLE reasons why that they do not listen to their employees and junior leaders. *Treat all aspects of the business the same- whether you're in accounting, leasing, ops, field ops, IT, or even the call center. People should be treated equally as they all share a piece of the business. *Loyalty means nothing- Time and time again I saw good employees leave before and after me because of their discontent with the way that this company is headed, and yet FirstKey didn't even lift a finger at asking why they were leaving, or try and retain them. In fact one of HR’s monthly achievements was the fact that they found a replacement so quickly Instead of trying to retain a very smart, respectful, and tenured employee. Same goes for me, I won't lie, it bothered me when I left that such a tenured employee didn't get a phone call from anyone in the organization on why I was leaving or what they could do to have me stay. I came in two weeks after giving notice, turned my equipment in and walked out the door. Not one phone call or message why. FirstKey from my understanding typically did exit interviews... I never got one. Note*** (I did have a ton of phone calls, messages, and emails from my fellow employees on my departure.)

Hello Thank you for taking the time to review us; we value your feedback and appreciate the time you contributed to our success. We love and celebrate the opportunity to promote internal Keypers; we announce these promotions publicly during our all-team meetings. I’m sad that you don’t feel like others have received an opportunity to improve, but I can assure you the Team Member Experience is important to us as well as employee development. Additionally, our annual all-employee survey will be published soon so we can measure what the overall sentiment is for our employees; we will take that feedback and create actionable items to improve in any areas we may find. To that end, I’d love to connect you with someone in Human Resources if you haven’t had an exit interview. Let me know if you are open to that. Thank you
