Avantages
Insurance starts immediately. Presumably because the place is a death trap. Due to the 60 hour work weeks, the money is alright.
Inconvénients
12 hour days, 5 days a week. Sometimes a 6 hour day on Saturday as well. Horribly unclean work environment, absolutely filthy. Even for a shop, its inexcusable. Their archaic machines hardly work at all, and when they do they malfunction constantly. Oh, power outlets for the welders? No. Absolutely not. You're going to have to push the BARE LEADS into an ancient fuse box with a screwdriver. Absolutely no fall-protection equipment. No hard hats. If you aren't Polish or "in with the good ol' boys", good luck getting anywhere. And don't expect a raise. Oh, and its a non union shop (and they will not hesitate to let you know). Just because you are hired in as a welder or machinist with years of experience doesn't mean that they won't have you degreasing vats of crane assemblies, sand blasting, painting, or any other labor that they can come up with if they don't like you. This place is the very epitome of a sweat shop.
