Dataworks Development is one of the first places I worked and it was a great experience. I spent nearly six years there learning about data/sample management applications in the biotech and research fields. The culture suited my personality and I was sad to leave when the time came. Small company that knows its customers needs and always seeks to put them first. As an employee I felt I had opportunities to grow professionally and because the company was small and nimble it afforded some more flexibility in work-life balance I haven’t found at larger companies since leaving. Working for a small company it can be unstructured and lack some of the safety-net benefits provided by a bigger company. It’s more or less up to the person if pros outweigh the cons of the type of company and culture you’re looking for or vice versa.
