About 40% of the people are lovely and work very hard within the IT department. Even though systems that DPD use are outdated everyone tries to help each other do the best they can. A real vibe of "we're all up s-creek because not many people know what's happening. Lets help each other". The staff parties were good and the pay is decent compared to other jobs. If you want to learn how to fob people off, fobbing people off is a DPD speciality. They're world class at fobbing 10/10.
Inconvénients
The vast majority of the management don't have a clue or expertise on how to advanced the IT department overall and manage effectively. They're put under ridiculous pressure to deliver products for the company. Man management skills of some managers are very poor. Rather than manage they shout buzzwords and make up stats to seem like they're hard working The staff turnover was insane whilst working there, some teams changed every 4 months. Contractors upon contractors were hired - a lot left without handing over knowledge. Knowledge is held on by developers and rarely shared, systems and programming languages used are older than time itself, brown nosing is common, even the majority of the brown-nosing managers dislike working there. Some teams get away with bare minimal, whilst others are really overworked. Fobbing people off is a DPD speciality. They're world class at fobbing 10/10. Next to no training is given to employee's you have to fend for yourself with your new brown-nosing skills and fobbing skills. The targets given are never reachable, for IT or the parcel-working staff. Senior management have their heads in the clouds thinking they're the best and love to penalise workers over tiny worthless issues. Seriously reconsider working for DPD IT, it's stressful, not very rewarding and like time travelling to the 90's.
