Avantages
- Lots of trust from the leadership team. They grant a lot of autonomy in how you handle your work and they are really great about ensuring you have a solid work/life balance but there is a level of trust that your work will be handled in a professional and timely manner.
- The company has lots of different types of engineers in the fields of hardware, mechatronics, robotics, electrical and software and many of them are pioneers or experts in their fields. As a recruiter, this works great for me because I have so many people to learn from and our engineers are really open to sharing and learning from one another, so for other engineers who are interested in becoming multi-disciplinary, it's a great place to learn.
- The leadership is highly transparent with information and company vision/direction. I joined during a time when the company was working to secure a funding round and during this period the leadership team was very open about where we were and what measures were in place to ensure our continued survival and success as an organization. This was something that was important to me because my last employer was the opposite.
Inconvénients
- You'll probably gain at least 10-15lbs after you start, hamburgers aside, most team members are also huge foodies so food, and food-related discussions are highly prevalent. I find myself hungry in the office almost all the time even if I've already eaten.
- They don't let you come in if you're sick. I hope you like staying at home when you have a cold.
