Avantages
Good place to your career started in the field of Environmental Engineering, working as a consultant for many small to mid sized companies, and even a few big companies. There is solid balance of work to life area. Rarely are you expected to work extra hours, you are expected to work 40-42 hrs a week, if a project goes long say on tuesday, you have the freedom to leave early later in the week, so long as work 40 hrs in the week. Pay is solid, less than traditional consulting but you can have a life during the week, so that more than makes up for it. Regular promotions and a year end bonus is normal.
Inconvénients
Little opportunity for growth within the organization. The organization is of very flat and everyone career path is basically the same. Promotion are based more on time with the company and there is no way to prove yourself, or side step around less qualified people who have been with the company for a longer period of time. In order to receive real promotion you must move onto another company. It is a family own company and the senior positions will always be held for the family members. Family members always have priority, no exception. The are good to their employees, especially if they feel you are loyal to the company. Great people.
