Avantages
This job will give back to you in the effort you put forth. Bare minimum or extra effort is noticed by management and rewarded. Bio-Chem Testing prides itself on customer satisfaction and quality control. Safety is also a top priority. Analysts are NOT pressured into analyzing samples that they feel uncomfortable with or if it puts others in harms way. Field samplers are not pressured into sampling or driving places they are uncomfortable. Benefits include competitive wages, matching 401(k)'s, health, dental, vision, vacation, and personal time. I have not witnessed discrimination amongst gender, race, religion, etc. in any position within the laboratory, but I have witnessed rewarded efforts for those that go above and beyond. I've seen both male and female in every position/duty within the organization. Employees have different qualities and are placed where they can make the biggest impact. If it doesn't work the greatest, they may be moved to a better fit if it is available.
Inconvénients
Some employees tend to treat this as a paycheck until "their" better job calls. Time and training is labored into people that don't have any intention in staying. Those people are typically carrying negative attitudes the short duration of there stay and try to carryover the negativity towards others. Overtime is also agreed upon during interviews that there typically will be a need. I don't recall any person turning down overtime in an interview, but when it is time to perform that overtime, there is sometimes resistance (not always, but does occur)
