Avantages
I spent 8 years working at Allegro systems 2013-2021 as a senior design engineer. There were some decent people working there and at the beginning the work was interesting. However towards the end I spent more time doing bench evaluation / safety analysis and documentation than actual analogue design.
Inconvénients
The management in Edinburgh office are bully's and are incapable of engaging with their staff. Some of the managers are technically strong, others just capable of pushing spreadsheets around. On multiple occasions I raised well-founded technical concerns about the definition and feasibility of new products - however they didn't want to listen or engage so these problems could be resolved. During the start of global pandemic (2020) the company eventually made me redundant over Microsoft Teams! The Edinburgh management & HR refused to meet me in person and completed the entire process remotely (a clear case of hiding behind the covid restrictions! an absolute disgrace and cowardly way to treat anyone). Eventually I had no other option than hire an employment lawyer to get a fair settlement. Allegro even made me sign an NDA that I wouldn't disclose how my employment ended. A very bitter ending to my 8-years there. This was obviously a stressful time for me and my family. Thankfully I quickly found a new job paying 30% more than previous role.
